This course introduces students to a globalyperspective of health care issues and how thoseyissues transcend national borders, class, race,yethnicity, and culture. An overview of strategiesythat promote the health of nations will beydiscussed, from health threats and public healthyissues specific to regions of the world to chronicydisease prevention and management in nationsyworldwide. Students will develop a deeperyunderstanding of cultural differences and anyenhanced awareness of global inequities in healthycare delivery. Upon completion of this course,ystudents will be familiar with the activities ofymajor international health care organizations,yboth publically and privately funded, governmentalyand non-governmental, and understand the impact ofythose activities on global health and wellness.
