Windle Wins 800 Meter Run
Seven different Tigers hit qualifying marks for the NAIA National Meet in the first weekend of competition. Leading the way was senior Ellie Windle.
Windle took first place in the 800 meter run at the Holiday Inn Invitational at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Windle's victory in 2:19.46 was an automatic qualifying mark.
Windle was joined by Erin Fogarty, Kacee Kemper and Katie Kosmos on the 4x400 meter relay team that hit a qualifying mark. The team raced to a time of 3:59.86.
Fogarty and Kosmos hit qualifying marks in the 60-meter hurdles. Kosmos had a best of 0:09.03 while Fogarty notched a time of 0:09.13. Both times were reached in the semifinals of the race. Kosmos finished fourth in the finals while Fogarty was sixth.
Erin Shafer and Meagan Bauer vaulted 11-05.75 in the pole vault to hit qualifying marks.
Jenna Temme went 5-05, a qualifying mark in the high jump.
Reaching provisional qualifying marks at the meet were Ashley Noel (10:43.69, 3000 meter run), Abby Schlueter (36-02.75, triple jump), Katie Bartels (5-03, high jump) and Chelsee Marvin (5-03, high jump).
