Tigers Top NCAA II Squad
Doane took advantage of two red cards on the Mauraders of the University of Mary and defeated the NCAA Division II squad 6-1. The Tigers received two goals from Kyle Smith and Thomas Dutcher. Monday Akogwu picked up the second goal of the game for Doane, his 14th of the season. With the goal, Akogwu broke the single-season record for goals. Jordan Dahlinger also picked up a goal for the Tigers.
Doane out-shot Mary 37-13, including an edge of 17-5 in shots on goal. Derek Luptak picked up nine of 11 saves for Mary. Chris Kavinsky notched three saves while allowing a goal and Steven Morris also added a save. Doane was also called for off-sides 14 times.
