The men's cross country team placed third this week at the NAIA Mid-States Classic hosted by Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. Colorado College claimed the team title with 93 points. Oklahoma Christian, receiving votes in the NAIA poll, finished second with 114 points while Doane posted 115 points.
Sufian Kimo paced the Tigers with a fourth place finish, posting a time of 25:34.75. Paul Garcia placed 11th after running a time of 25:58.00 and Edwin Ronoh ran a time of 26:11.33 to finish in 13th place.
Scott Ohlson came across the line in 44th place after a time of 27:03.72. Holden Kaliff finished in a time of 27:17.61, placing 52nd overall. Steve Jerina finished 67th with a time of 27:42.59. Phil Rohde ran a time of 27:56.44 to place 78th.
Other Tigers compete but not scoring for Doane were Justin Cox (98th, 28:30.32), Ben DeLay (112th, 28:50.46), Jamil Chehade (131st, 29:15.06), Matt Rosser (133rd, 29:21.01), Derreck Donovan (134th, 29:21.76), Andrew Ohlson (163rd, 30:35.09), and Omar Fernandez (167th, 31:22.40).
Doane will travel to Hastings on Saturday, November 8, for the GPAC Championships.
