Tigers Place Sixth at NAIA Mid-States
The Doane men's cross country team came away with a disappointing sixth place finish at the NAIA Mid-States Classic this week, having higher hopes entering the meet. The 23rd-ranked Tigers finished with a team time of 2:12:36 and 161 points. Colorado College won the meet with 125 points and a team time of 2:11:13.
Sufian Kimo paced the Tigers with a fourth place finish as he ran a time of 25:33. Paul Garcia finished 24th after running a time of 26:23. Edwin Ronoh and Scott Ohlson finished 37th and 38th, respectively. Ronoh ran a time of 26:38 and Ohlson finished with a time of 26:39. Phil Rohde rounded out the Tiger's Top Five as he placed 59th and ran a time of 27:21.
Jarid Holliday ran a time of 27:39 and placed 72nd for the Tigers. Jordan Pieper placed 80th with a time of 27:51. Tyler Jackman finished 85th after a time of 27:58.
Jamil Chehade finished with a time of 28:28 and placed 107th in the meet. Zach Sims was 132nd with a time of 29:22. Matt Rosser placed 140th with a time of 29:38.
Jory Pflasterer placed 163rd with a time of 30:31 and Zach Christiansen was 166th with a time of 30:36. Omar Fernandez placed 173rd with a time of 30:57.
Ryan Corrigan took 192nd place after a time of 32:26 and Andrew Ohlson placed 197th with a time of 32:53.
A total of 215 runners took part in the meet with 22 teams scoring points.
