The Tiger men's golf team battled windy and cold conditions and finished 11th at the GPAC Qualifier held at Wilderness Ridge G.C. on Tuesday in Lincoln. Scores were high, with the average at 90.33 strokes per 18 holes. The Tigers shot a 374 on the day while Morningside College was able to put together an outstanding round of 312. They were 16 strokes better than second place Sioux Falls on the day, an average of four strokes per player scored.
Bo Cribelli and Trevor Rosenberger tied for 34th on the day after posting rounds of 90. Cribelli shot a 44-46 while Rosenberger posted a 49-41. Cody Gorsett shot a 91 (40-51) and placed 44th. John Wiemer and Jacob Kringle tied for 56th with a 103 (50-53).
The low score on the day came from Morningside's Cam Jacobs who posted a 2-over, 73. Jacobs overtook the individual medalist lead and currently sits at a 144, five strokes ahead of Luke Vermeer of Northwestern.
Gorsett is currently tied for 33rd after a two round score of 169. Cribelli and Rosenberger are tied for 36th with a 173. Wiemer is 45th with a score of 189. Kringle did not play in the first round and is not eligible for the overall medalist leaderboard.
The final two rounds of the GPAC Championship will be held in Spring 2010.
