Tigers Picked to Finish 10th in GPAC
(GPAC Release) Dakota Wesleyan totaled 140 points and nine first-place votes and is the preseason coaches' selection to win the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Basketball Championship. The Tigers, coaches by John Hemenway, posted a 25-9 record last year and finished in a tie for second in the league (with Briar Cliff) at 14-4. Briar Cliff was tabbed second with 129 points and three first-place votes. The Chargers totaled a 23-8 overall record last winter. GPAC Postseason Champion Sioux Falls is third in the poll with 110 points, while regular season champion Morningside was picked fifth and garnered the final first place vote. Morningside, Briar Cliff, Sioux Falls and Dakota Wesleyan all advanced to the NAIA National Tournament last year.
Points were awarded on a 12-1 basis and coaches' could not vote for their own team.
