The Tigers of Doane College and Dakota Wesleyan University teamed up on Saturday afternoon to show support for those in the fight against breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Doane volleyball team is taking donations for breast cancer throughout the month. Financial donations can be made at home matches for the month of October as well as on the Tiger volleyball web site under the link Dig Pink.
Prior to the start of the Dig Pink match on Saturday with Dakota Wesleyan, non-starters and starters were introduced and each player held a sign with the name of a family member or friend who has fought cancer. There was also an honorary coin flip held prior to the start of the match with the captains from both teams joined by their honorary captain.
Following the match, both teams joined for a group photo wearing their own version of Dig Pink t-shirts. At the Tiger post-match meal provided by parents, there were cupcakes with pink frosting and pink ribbon mints on top.
