The Tiger women's cross country ran their final tune-up before the GPAC Championships in two weeks as they placed eighth at the NAIA Mid-States Classic held in Winfield, Kan. Kansas Wesleyan, ranked No. 9 in the NAIA, won the meet. Doane finished with 264 points.
Lizzie Kolbo posted the top mark for Doane with a 17th place finish and time of 19:41.30. Halie Smith took 45th in the meet with a time of 20:32.89. Storm Mellick ran a time of 20:59.95 and placed 61st. Jillian Ourada took 77th overall with a time of 21:23.65 and Marysol Cazares took 85th with a time of 21:42.24.
Mariah Morgan ran a time of 21:46.73 and placed 88th while Allison Hartnett finished 120th with a time of 22:54.52.
The GPAC Championships will be held the first weekend of November at Yankton, S.D.
