Tigers Drop Third Game in Montana
The Tigers received 16 points and seven rebounds from Lindsay Anderson but it was not enough as Doane dropped their third straight game, falling to Montana Western 61-49. UMW is ranked No. 6 in NAIA Division 1.
Doane trailed 32-25 at halftime after UMW went on a 6-0 run at the end of the half.
After Montana Western built their lead up to nine points, the Tigers went on a 16-9 run to pull within two point at 43-41. Doane held UMW to three points over a 10 minute span in the second half.
Montana Western scored 12 of their final 18 points on free throws. UMW attempted 32 free throws compared to 14 by Doane.
The Tigers put together a strong rebound performance as they out-rebounded UMW 35-26 and limited them to two offensive rebounds.
Doane will return to Nebraska and play at Fremont against host Midland Lutheran College on November 29.
