Tigers Compete at Regionals
Doane finished fifth in both the men's and women's NAIA Region III Championships. Concordia University won the women's side with 62 points while Doane scored 128. Black Hills State won the men's side with 36 points while Doane had 175.
Kym Bennett paced the Tiger women with a sixth place finish and a time of 18:27.09. She finished 36 seconds behind champion Olivia Johnson of Northwestern College. Johnson won the GPAC Championship a week ago. Bennett has qualified for the NAIA National Championship meet on November 17. A complete list of individual qualifiers will be announced on November 6, the Top 7 individuals who did not qualify through the team rankings advance on.
Viviana Arreola finished 20th with a time of 19:22.59. Clare Hoarty was 29th with a time of 19:22.59. Tiffany Bence finished in 32nd place after posting a time of 19:43.77. Lindsey Wallman rounded out the Top 5 for Doane with a time of 19:57.93
On the men's side, Sufian Kimo placed ninth with a time of 25:51.29. Allen Wood of Black Hills State won the meet with a time of 25:09.02. Kimo has automatically qualified individually for the NAIA Championships with his finish.
Josh Peavy finished 24th with a time of 26:33.31 while Ben DeLay was 48th with a time of 27:00.62. Holden Kaliff finished 50th with a time of 27:09.12. Scott Ohlson was the fifth Tiger to cross the finish line, ending with a time of 27:25.12. He finished 58th in the final standings.
