Tigers Claim Track Title

The men's track and field team ran away with the GPAC Outdoor Championship on Saturday, topping second place Concordia by 77 points.

BJ Lawrence won the 100m and 200m dashes as he posted times of 10.40 and 21.02, respectively. Ben McCaleb was third in the 100m and second in the 200m. Thomas Hodges took fifth in both events.

Edwin Ronoh finished in third place in the 800m run with a time of 1:52.08. He also took third in the 1,500m run.

Virgil Mitchell won both hurdles races. He took the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.69. In the 400m hurdles, he posted a time of 53.24. Rob Keeney was third in the 110m hurdles and fourth in the 400m hurdles. Sam Housh took fifth in the 110m hurdles.

Jarid Holliday picked up a fourth place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase.

Doane's 4x100m relay team of McCaleb, Hodges, Chris Busby and Lawrence posted a GPAC record time of 40.58 in winning the event.

The 4x400m team of Mitchell, Jory Pflasterer, Alex Reynolds and Ronoh took third with a mark of 3:14.86.

The 4x800m team of Pflasterer, Reynolds, Holliday and Ronoh placed second with a time of 7:45.77.

Nate Teten took fifth in the pole vault for the Tigers, posting a mark of 14-09.00.

Keeney placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 22-10.00

In the triple jump, Byron Evans won with a mark of 48-06.00. Brian Hubbert was fifth with a mark of 46-06.00.

Chase Trecek took third in the shot put with a mark of 53-09.00. Zack Lindsley was fourth with a toss of 52-02.75. Jacob Clouse took eighth with a mark of 50-01.75

Lindsley posted a second place finish in the discus with a mark of 173-10. Vince Krejci was fourth with a mark of 162-07. Voss took fifth with a toss of 159-02 and Darin Smith was seventh with a mark of 156-03.

Clouse was seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 169-05.

Micah Marvin won the javelin with a throw of 191-09. Jake McCaffrey was fourth with a toss of 173-10. Andrew Nielsen was seventh with a mark of 162-09 and Mitch Magrini was eighth with a mark of 162-04.

Dustin Schwartz took third in the decathlon with 5,302 points and Carlos Anguiano was fourth with a total of 5,136 points.
