Tiger Offense Heats Up on York
Doane used hot shooting and timely three-point baskets to get by York College on Saturday afternoon, 86-73. The Tigers shot 50.8 percent from the floor while hitting 9-of-24 three-point attempts. York also shot well, hitting 45.8 percent of their shot attempts.
Dane Cruz led Doane in scoring with a career-high 33 points. He was 11-of-16 from the floor and 8-of-8 from the free throw line. Tyler Cyboron topped his career-high from Thursday evening by scoring 17 today against York. He notched 15 points in the Tigers' loss to Nebraska-Kearney. Cyboron hit 5-of-8 three-point attempts, including a pair on back-to-back possessions that extended Doane's lead to double-digits in the second half.
Brett McFarland posted a game-high 10 rebounds and five assists for Doane. The Tigers out-rebounded the Panthers 42-30.
York was led in scoring by Dashon Jones' 14 points. Mike Lough and Jesse Anderson added 13 points each. Darus Bowman led the team with eight rebounds while adding 11 points.
Doane improves to 2-2 on the season while York falls to 1-7.
Doane will travel to Lincoln to take on the Prairie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan in the GPAC opener for both teams on November 20. The game can be heard on the Tiger Sports Network.
