Schwisow Earns Libero-of-the-Week Again
(GPAC Release) The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following volleyball players-of-the-week for September 21 -September 27, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Player - Hillary Hanno, Northwestern (Outside Hitter)
Northwestern outside hitter Hillary Hanno is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week. Hanno, a junior from Sioux City, Iowa, averaged 4.56 kills per game as the Red Raiders went 5-0 on the week. For the week Northwestern posted wins over ranked teams in Bellevue and previously undefeated Georgetown. She hit .299 on the week and also added five ace serves and 20 digs. Northwestern is now 18-2 on the season.
Setter- Kaitlin Beaver, Northwestern (Setter)
Northwestern setter Kaitlin Beaver is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Beaver, a junior from Sioux Center, Iowa, averaged 11.89 assists per set as Northwestern went 5-0 on the week. The junior setter lofted 214 assists and added 18 kills, hitting .283, in the five matches. Beaver lofted up 54 assists against 13th-ranked Bellevue and registered 12 blocks and 23 digs for the week. The Red Raiders are now 18-2.
Libero- Emily Schwisow, Doane (Libero)
Doane libero Emily Schwisow is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week. Schwisow, a senior from Beatrice, Nebraska, posted 6.64 digs per game as Doane went 3-0 on the week. She also completed 46-47 pass attempts had five ace serves. Doane is now 17-4 on the season.
