Schwisow Digs Up GPAC Honor

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week Announced
(Sioux City, Iowa) - The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following volleyball players-of-the-week for October 5 - October 12, 2008.  Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2008-2009 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Player - Randa Hulstein, Northwestern (Middle Blocker)
Northwestern middle blocker Randa Hulstein is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week.  Hulstein, a junior from Sioux Center, Iowa, averaged 4.5 kills and 3.9 digs per game last week as the Red Raiders went 3-0 in league play.  She also totaled three ace serves and 17 assist blocks.  In a five set win over Dordt, she boasted 22 kills and 22 digs.  Northwestern is 17-6 on the season and 8-0 in league play.  She was also named the NAIA National Volleyball Player-of-the-Week.

Setter - Kali Angerman, Morningside
Morningside setter Kali Angerman is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week.  Angerman, a senior from Sioux City, Iowa, lofted 13.73 assists per game as the Mustangs went 3-0 in league play last week.  In a five set win at Doane, she dealt out a season high 65 assists.  For the week she also totaled 29 digs and one ace serve.  Morningside is now 24-3 on the season and 10-1 in the conference. 

Libero - Emily Schwisow, Doane
Doane libero Emily Schwisow is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week.  Schwisow, a junior from Beatrice, Nebraska, averaged 5.5 digs per game as the Tigers went 2-1 in conference action on the week.  For the week she totaled 66 digs and completed 43-44 pass attempts for a 98-percent reception percentage.  Doane is now 18-6 on the season and 5-3 in the conference.
