Roth Claims GPAC Honor

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for March 27 - April 3, 2011. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2010-2011 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Pitcher - Nathan Roth, Doane

Doane's pitcher Nathan Roth is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Roth, a freshman from Camarillo, California threw a total of 12 innings and did not allow an earned run in the Tigers two wins over Briar Cliff and Dordt this week. Doane's two opponents hit .205 against Roth as he averaged 5.5 strikeouts per game. The Tigers went 6-1 on the week and 20-8 overall entering the week.

Player - Derek Kampschneider, Midland
Midland's third baseman Derek Kampschneider is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week. Kampschneider, a junior from Dodge, Nebraska, hit .522 on the week posting a strong 12-23 at the plate. He hit a triple and three homeruns, which led Midland to a 5 win week. The Warriors are 13-12 on the season and undefeated in the GPAC as they enter Friday's doubleheader with Northwestern on April 8th in Fremont.
