Post-season Honors Released in Men's Soccer
Doane men's soccer post-season honors have been announced and the following players were recognized by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
Tom Heavey, a sophomore from Omaha, was named First Team All-GPAC as a forward. Heavey, tied for the team lead with eight goals on the season. He added an assist to finish with 17 points on the season. He had one game-winning goal.
Devon Strecker, a sophomore from Omaha, earned First Team All-GPAC as a midfielder. Strecker equaled Heavey in goals scored with eight this season. He posted two assists and led the team with 18 points. He posted four game-winning goals for the Tigers.
Jace Peters, a sophomore from Glenwood, Iowa, received First Team All-GPAC honors as a defender. Peters posted one assists in 16 games but helped the team to five shutouts.
Kyle Smith, a junior from Mission Hills, S.D., was picked Second Team All-GPAC this year as a midfielder. Smith scored five goals and posted four assists for the Tigers. He had three game-winning goals.
Chris Kavinsky, a senior from Englewood, Colo., was named honorable mention All-GPAC. Kavinsky came back from injury midway through the year to finish with four shutouts and a 1.70 goals against average. He dropped his goals against average nearly half a goal game after his return from injury.
