No. 16 Briar Cliff Shoots Past Doane
Briar Cliff, ranked No. 16, was hot from the floor all evening as they posted an 85-67 victory over Doane. The Chargers shot 60.3-percent from the floor and hit 8-of-15 from behind the arc. Doane shot 42.4-percent, hitting 4-of-13 from three-point range.
Doane cut the Briar Cliff lead to four points early in the second half but the Chargers went on a 13-2 run to open the lead up to 15 points, a deficit the Tigers could not overcome. During the run, BCU hit six consecutive shots while Doane was 1-of-4 with a turnover and two missed free throws.
The Tigers were paced by Bryan Meyer and Zach Moult. Meyer & Moult posted 14 points apiece for Doane with Moult finishing with a team-high four rebounds. Jens Scholl added 12 points and three steals for the Tigers.
Briar Cliff received 23 points from Kyle Semprini as he went 5-of-7 from behind the three-point arc. Kyle Swanson added 17 points for the Chargers.
