The University of Sioux Falls collected their second straight shutout, this time taking out the Tigers, 64-0. Sioux Falls scored touchdowns on their first seven possessions.
Doane broke into Sioux Falls territory on their third drive of the game, getting ball down to the seven-yard line but the Cougar defense forced the Tigers to settle for a field goal. Andrew Nielsen hit the right upright and was unable to connect on the 25-yard field goal attempt and they Tigers missed out on their only scoring opportunity.
The Cougars featured a balanced attack, posting 335 rushing yards and 297 passing yards to finish the game with 632 total yards. Doane posted 93 total yards, 58 through the air and 35 on the ground. Five of the Tigers' 13 possessions ended in negative yardage.
Anthony Dunn finished the game with 32 yards passing as he completed 6-of-17 attempts. Garrett Schroeder completed a halfback pass for 26 yards.
Tyrone Curry led the receivers with three catches for 37 yards. Landon Freitag caught three passes for 19 yards and Tim Reed had a reception for two yards.
Schroeder led the rushing game with 27 yards on 10 carries. Michael Vargas added 21 yards on 10 carries.
Defensively, Ryan Gruntorad finished with seven total tackles for the Tigers. Josh Milz added six total tackles, five solo. Rob Keeney and Zack Brenner each posted a tackle for lost yardage.
