Track Events - Virgil Mitchell, Doane
Doane's Virgil Mitchell is the track athlete-of-the-week. Mitchell, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, holds the fastest NAIA and GPAC time in the 400 meters with a time of 48.14. He jumped into the spotlight this week finishing first on Saturday at the Concordia Invite and breaking Sioux Falls' Colin Koth's GPAC season-best 400 meter time. Mitchell also broke Doane's school record in the 400 meter dash.

Field Events - Elliott Bulling, Nebraska Wesleyan
Nebraska Wesleyan's Elliott Bulling is the field athlete-of-the-week. Bulling, a senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, was named the Male Athlete of the Meet at the Darren Young Classic held at Grinnell College on Saturday. He won the shot put with a toss of 58-4, the longest throw in NCAA III this season. The throw also eclipses the NWU school record of 56-9 that was held by 1979 NCAA III Champion Bill Dietrick, one of the oldest records at NWU. Bulling also placed 2nd in the weight throw.
