Track Events - Brijesh (B.J.) Lawrence, Doane
Doane's B.J. Lawrence is the track athlete-of-the-week. Lawrence, a sophomore from Omaha, Nebraska, set the school record in the 100m dash, breaking the mark he set two weeks ago in his first outdoor meet as a Doane Tiger. He hit two individual NAIA automatic qualifying marks and leads the NAIA in the 100m and 200m dashes. He also anchored the 4x100m relay team that also posted a NAIA automatic time. Lawrence was named NAIA Track Athlete-of-the-Week as well for his performance.
Field Events - Ben Zuch, Midland
Midland's Ben Zuch is the field athlete-of-the-week. Zuch, a senior from Fremont, Nebraska, cleared 6'11 3/4" this week in the high jump competition at the Jim Duncan Invite held in Des Moines, Iowa. This impressive mark places him .25" shy of first place in the NAIA performance list and just .50" off of his Indoor National Championship jump. Zuch will continue competition at the Doane Relays on April 22-23 held in Crete, Nebraska.
