Kavinsky Returns, Shuts Out NWU
An early second half goal for Doane gave the Tigers a 1-0 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan on Wednesday evening. The win improved the Tigers' conference record to 5-3 while Wesleyan dropped to 2-4-2 in the GPAC.
Highlighting the evening was the return of Doane goalkeeper Chris Kavinsky. Kavinsky was injured against Concordia a few weeks back and missed four games plus the majority of the game against the Bulldogs. Kavinsky finished with three saves in posting the shutout.
Doane picked up their lone goal as Devon Strecker scored a goal in the 47th minute. For the game, Doane outshot the Prairie Wolves 17-5.
The Tigers will be at home on Saturday to take on Dakota Wesleyan.
