Fox, Shaw Lead Tigers in Comeback Win
Doane found that taking two weeks off between games can be difficult to overcome but a late surge enabled the Tigers to come away with an 84-79 victory over Dakota State University on Friday evening.
The Tigers trailed throughout the game, gaining a brief lead with 17 minutes remaining in the game. However the lead lasted one possession. It wasn't until 2:36 remaining that the Tigers regained the lead on a three-point play by Lindsay Anderson. The basket was part of an 8-0 run over two minutes in which Doane was able to get a five point lead, 82-77. Doane led for less than three total minutes in the game.
A key to the Tigers' victory was in rebounding where Doane held a 45-20 advantage, including a 26-4 edge on the offensive boards. Doane out-scored the Trojans, 26-2, in second chance points.
Amy Fox led the scoring effort for Doane with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor. She added seven made free throws and collected five offensive rebounds and five assists. Lindsay Shaw added 17 points, hitting four three-point baskets.
Nicole Anderson posted a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds (seven offensive). Lindsay Anderson scored 14 points, seven rebounds (five offensive) and four assists. Kristine Ortmeier notched 12 point on 5-of-5 shooting from the floor.
Dakota State was led by Megan Swecker's 26 points and four assists. Alyssa Kirk scored 19 points, hitting five three-point baskets, while adding four assists.

Doane will return to action in the GPAC when they take on Nebraska Wesleyan on January 7. The game will tip-off at 6:00 PM in Lincoln.
