The Tiger women's soccer team picked up their first GPAC win of the season with an 8-0 thrashing of Mount Marty College. Doane refused to let the Lancers pick up their first conference win since 2003.
Samantha Exstrom scored the first two goals of the game, with her first goal coming in the second minute of play. Her next goal came in the 18th minute. Assists went to Kelly Baer on the first goal and Ally Tamerius on the second goal.
Clare Koeppe gave Doane a three goal lead in the 19th minute when she took a pass from Sarah Medina. Alyssa Davis also added an assist on the play. Courtney Richards finished off the first half scoring as she found the back of the goal with 18 seconds remaining in the half. Rachael Dillon picked up the assist.
In the second half, Kelly Baer scored on an attempted clear out by the Lancer defense. Exstrom followed with her third and fourth goals of the game. Medina assisted on the first of the two goals and Kelsie Grgurich added an assist on Exstrom's final goal of the game. Mia Juarez took a pass from Richards and scored the final goal of the meeting.
Kelsey Stark and Jordan Ludwig shared the shutout victory with Ludwig having the lone save on the only shot attempt Mt. Marty was able to get. It came on a direct kick following a Doane foul. The Tigers out-shot Mt. Marty, 42-1.
