Exstrom Ties Freshman Record

Samantha Exstrom scored a goal on a penalty kick early in the second half and it held up as the Tigers came away from Sioux Falls with a 1-0 victory over the Cougars. Exstrom's goal ties her for the most scored by a freshman, matching the mark of Michelle Jeske (18 in 1997).
Alicia Exstrom put together another strong performance in net, notching a shutout while collecting two saves. Doane out-shot the Cougars 13-3 on the day. Trish Fierbach collected seven saves for USF.
