Eleven Event Victories in Ward Haylett Invite
Doane won 11 events in their first home meet of the season, the Ward Haylett Invite.
The Tigers took first place in 10 of the 11 running events on the day. Paulvince Obuon won the 55 meter dash with an NAIA automatic qualifying time of 0:06.42. D'Artagnan Dai're won the 200 meter dash with a time of 0:23.51. Lance Foster took the 400 meter dash with a time of 0:50.78. John Holliday took the 600 meter run with a time of 1:24.01. Matt Hollman posted a time of 2:01.55 to win the 800 meter run.
Greg Torres set a meet record in the 1000 meter run with an NAIA qualifying mark of 2:32.13. Sufian Kimo won the mile in a time of 4:29.07. The 3000 meter run was won by Josh Peavy in a time of 9:21.51.
The Doane relay teams also took first place, winning the 4x400 and 4x800 relays.
In the field events, Maurice Smith and Tom Martin hit qualifying marks in the jumps. Smith went 23-03.00 in the long jump to finish second while Martin jumped 46-10.75 to win the triple jump. Dave Cravin finished second in the high jump with a provisional qualifying mark of 6-06.00.
Doane will participate at the Nebraska-Kearney Loper Invite on Saturday, January 27.
