Dordt's Height Factors in Win Over Doane

Dordt College jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the opening minutes and never looked back as they defeated Doane, 83-67.  The Defenders led by as many as 15 points on two occasions during the first half and led 47-32 going into halftime.  Dordt took advantage of second chance points, scoring 12 compared to Doane's two in the first half.

In the second stanza, Doane cut the lead to seven points in the first five minutes but Dordt responded with an 8-0 run to take their lead back to 15 points.  Dordt extended the lead to 20 points with two minutes remaining.  The Tigers limited Dordt to just two second chance points in the second half but the Defenders were able to get to the free throw line where they converted 9-of-11 attempts.

Leading all scorers was Scott Neuhalfen.  He posted 18 points off the bench for the Tigers.  Jack Lind added 11 points while Dane Cruz was held to 10 points.  Lind also grabbed a team best six rebounds.

Dordt was led by Eric Van Maanen's 15 points.  Scott Van Zanten posted 13 points and 11 rebounds as Dordt out-rebounded the Tigers 41-24.  Dordt collected 16 offensive boards.

Doane will participate in the Disney Classic in Orlando, Fla.  The Tigers will take on Daemen College (NY) on December 17.
