Doane Tops Nebraska Wesleyan
Doane rallied from a five point deficit in the first half to take a 73-62 victory at Nebraska Wesleyan. The Prairie Wolves (2-11, 0-6 GPAC) shot 50 percent in the first half before cooling off to shot 30 percent in the second half. Doane (11-5, 5-1 GPAC) shot 46 percent from the floor for the game, including 13-of-26 in the second half.
The Tigers were paced by Ashley Howard's 26 points. She was 9-of-18 from the floor and 8-of-12 from the charity stripe. Ashley Sullwold added 11 points and Lindsay Anderson chipped in 10. Alissa Holland had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Nebraska Wesleyan was paced by Devan Aschtgen's 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Doane out-scored the Prairie Wolves 16-7 over the final 7:25.
The Tigers will host Morningside College on Saturday, January 6 with tip-off scheduled for 2:00 pm. Morningside is ranked No. 17 in the NAIA and is coming off an 88-63 victory over No. 4 Northwestern College.
