Doane to Participate in NMEA Convention
Doane College will participate in the 2010 Nebraska Music Educators Association (NMEA) Convention. Each year, music groups vie for the prestigious honor of NMEA selection. The convention, which will take place in Lincoln Nov. 19 and 20, will include performances by Doane's Jazz Unlimited and Symphonic Wind Ensemble.
Jazz Unlimited, conducted by Kara Baxter, will perform at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 in the Westbrook Music Building, Lincoln, Neb. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble, directed by Jay Gilbert, will perform at 11 a.m. on Nov. 20 in the Kimball Recital Hall in Lincoln.
According to their Web site, the mission of NMEA is to foster life-long learning and active music making by all Nebraskans.
