Doane Theatre Earns High Praise
Doane’s theatre production of Boeing Boeing received high praise from its reviewers.
Production times of Boeing Boeing were all nearly or completely sold out during homecoming weekend Oct 4-6.
The responder from The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) gave positive recognition to every aspect of the show from the costume and set design to the performance of the actors.
“I haven’t laughed so hard in years,” the responder said, “it was hard to take notes because I didn’t want to miss a beat.”
Freshman Andres Kamler and junior Coryelle Thomas were also individually recognized for their performances in the show. Both received nominations for the Irene Ryan Scholarship, a prestigious acting scholarship.
The two will be allowed to audition for the scholarship at KCACTF in January. The scholarship is awarded to 16 regional students and two national students each year. Scholars receive recognition, honor and financial assistance in their pursuit of further education.
The next theatre production, titled August: Osage County, will show Nov 29- Dec 1.
