Doane Takes a Bite Out of the Bulldogs
The Tiger volleyball team put on a strong showing in the home opener on Wednesday evening, taking down Concordia University in three games. Game scores were 25-16, 25-13 and 25-20. With the win, Doane improves to 14-4 while Concordia fell to 7-9.
Doane, as a team, hit .375 while pounding out 45 kills. Ivie Speer posted 11 kills in 15 attack attempts, a .733 attack percentage, to lead the Tigers. She also added four assist blocks. Susan Rollman notched 10 kills in 12 attacks, a .833 attack percentage, and added eight total blocks for Doane.
Heather Davison posted 24 set assists in the match while tying a school record with six ace serves. Cassie Reicks added 14 set assists for the Tigers.
Defensively, Emily Schwisow collected 13 digs for Doane, a game-high.
The Tigers will be off until next week when they play three GPAC matches on the road which includes a trip to Hastings College.
