Doane Starts GPAC Tourney with W

The Tiger baseball team opened the 2011 GPAC Tournament with an impressive victory over Mount Marty College, 11-1.

The two teams were scoreless through the first two innings before the Lancers got on the board in the top of the third. Jason West brought Albert in with a two-out single and a 4-1 lead. Back-to-back errors brought in two more runs as Doane lead 6-1 after the frame.

In the fourth, Doane added three runs to their lead. Thomas Albert opened with a double, stole third and scored on a wild pitch. Dunn doubled to plate AJ Spanel and Mike Korsakas singled to plate Mike Albert.
