Doane Starts GPAC Race in Sixth Place

The Doane men's golf team began the 2010-11 GPAC Qualifying Tournament on Monday afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa, and the Tigers posted their best start in GPAC play.
The Tigers currently sit sixth overall after shooting a team round of 308. Nebraska Wesleyan leads the way with a 291 team total after one round. Northwestern is in second place with a total of 298.
Doane received a pair of 75s to start the day from Cody Gorsett (39-36) and Bo Cribelli (36-39). Gorsett had three birdies on his round and both players are tied for ninth in the individual conference medalist race.
Tied for 34th is Colby Blackman (40-39) and Jacob Kringle (41-38) as both players shot a 79. John Wiemer finished with an 83 (42-41) and is tied for 48th.
