Doane Plans Coffeehouse Grand Opening
The public is invited to help Doane College celebrate the completion of its new coffeehouse with a grand opening celebration Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m.
Common Grounds Coffeehouse opened in the lower level of Perry Campus Center Oct. 4. It serves Seattle's Best coffee, assorted coffee drinks, hot chocolate drinks, cold beverages, smoothies, quiche, muffins, brownies, biscotti, cinnamon rolls, cookies and bagels.
Common Grounds will offer door prizes, 10 percent discount coupons, gift certificates and gift packages as part of the celebration.
The Crete Millers, the goodwill arm of the Crete Chamber of Commerce, will do a ribbon cutting.
Speakers include Student Congress President Tyson Compton and Doane President Jonathan Brand.
Representatives of construction and food companies involved in the project will be on hand, as well as architectural students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln who helped design the new space.
The coffeehouse is open to the general public daily from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m.
