The Tiger men's golf team took part in the two-day Nebraska Intercollegiate Invitational on Monday and Tuesday and placed sixth overall. The meet was played in Fremont on the first day and in Columbus for the second day. Wayne State College won the meet with a two-day total of 611.
Doane posted a two-day total of 635. Cody Gorsett paced the Tigers with a two-round total of 151 (73-78) as he placed sixth overall. He tied for fifth over the two days with five birdies. Colby Blackman tied for seventh after shooting a total of 152 (74-78). Blackman led the tournament with 23 pars over two days.
Jeremy Wollenburg tied for 21st in the meet with a 162 (81-81). He matched Gorsett in birdies with five over two days and tied for eighth in par 5 scoring average (4.86, -1). Dillon Barta tied for 40th in the meet with a 174 (89-85).
Will Juilfs and Colby Enevoldsen each played one round. Juilfs shot an 85 on the Fremont course while Enevoldsen shot a 92 on the Columbus course.
The tournament closes out the fall portion of the 2010-11 schedule.
