Doane Holds On, Tops Kansas Wesleyan
Doane jumped out to an early lead and it proved to be enough as the Tigers held off Kansas Wesleyan, 81-71. Doane built a 17 point lead in the first half only to see the Coyotes rally to tie the game with 6:52 remaining in the game. The Tigers answered with an 8-0 run to regain the lead.
For the game, Doane shot 42-percent from the floor while hitting 10-of-23 3-point baskets. The Tigers were also solid at the free throw line, hitting 19-of-24. Kansas Wesleyan finished the game shooting 36-percent after a hot second half. The Coyotes were 30-percent from the floor in the first half and 46-percent in the second half. They hit 15-of-20 free throw attempts.
Amy Fox led the way for Doane with a double-double, 18 points and 16 rebounds. She added three assists. Lindsay Anderson posted 15 points, hitting 4-of-6 3-point attempts. She added three assists and two steals. Hannah Helman posted 11 points.
Kansas Wesleyan was led by Emily Luckenroth's 26 points, hitting 6-of-10 3-point attempts. Kaylaen Dittmer added 12 points and four assists.
Doane out-rebounded the Coyotes 48-37 but committed 19 turnovers, five more the KWU.
