Doane Finishes Fourth at NWU Fall Invite
The Tiger women's golf team put together a strong performance at the two-day, Nebraska Wesleyan Fall Invite, as they placed fourth overall. It was the Tigers' best performance at the NWU Fall Invite in more than five years as they shot a team total of 741 over two days. The first day was held at Highlands GC with day two held at Pioneers GC in Lincoln.
JaCee Pilkington led the charge with an 11th place finish with a two-day total of 174 (91-83). Her second day total of 83 was the fifth lowest score of the day. She ranked third in birdies in the meet with two and tied for seventh in pars with 13. She was also in the Top 10 for average strokes on par 4's (4.79, +15) and par 5's (5.67, +6).
Holly Ryan posted a two-day, 186 (92-94), and tied for 22nd. Ryan was in the Top 15 for average strokes on par 5's (5.78, +7). Andrea Rosh placed 27th in the meet with a two-day, 189 (97-92). Brittany Sampy shot a 194 (100-94) and tied for 29th. Sampy tied for ninth in birdies in the two-days with one. Her birdie came at Pioneers on the par 3, 7th hole when she sank a putt from off the green. Rachel Ryan closed out the Tiger Top Five with a 195 (98-97) as she tied for 31st.
Other Tiger golfers were Megan Rotherham as she tied for 41st with a 207 (111-96), Crystal Naylor who also posted a 207 (108-99) and Samantha Rainforth who placed 51st with a 248 (136-112).
The Tigers will head to Sioux City to participate in Briar Cliff's meet on September 24-25.
