Doane Falls at Concordia
The Doane women's basketball team used fast break points to push Concordia University in the first half but the Bulldogs were able to open the second half with a 12-3 run to open enough of a gap and eventually pull away from the Tigers, 78-60.
Rebounding proved to be the deciding factor in the game as Concordia out-rebounded the Tigers 51-30, including 16-7 on the offensive end. The Bulldogs out-scored the Tigers in second-chance points, 21-1.
Doane was paced by Hannah Helman's 21 points. Cheryl Braithwait added 15 points and Kristine Ortmeier posted 13. Lindsay Shaw added nine for the Tigers. Vanessa Munter led the team with seven rebounds and Ortmeier posted a game-high five assists.
Concordia was led by Treva Nutter's 19 points and eight rebounds. Kristin Miller added 15 points for the Bulldogs.
Doane will host No. 21 Briar Cliff University on December 5.
