Doane Demolishes Roger Williams

 Doane College used strong pressure defense to record a 42-point victory on the first day of the Hoop-n-Surf Classic.  The Tigers defeated NCAA D3 Roger Williams University, 83-41.

Doane built a 25 point lead at halftime, ending the second half on an 11-0 run in the final three minutes of the half.  The second half saw Doane open with a 17-0 run to complete a 28 point swing in favor of the Tigers.  The Tiger defense carried the team during the 11 minute stretch, scoring 22 points off of turnovers.

Lindsay Anderson led all scorers with 19 points, five steals and four assists.  Lindsay Shaw added 12 points, hitting a pair of three-point baskets.  Nicole Anderson and Cheryl Braithwait picked up 11 points apiece while Amy Fox chipped in 10.  Kristine Ortmeier picked up a team-high seven rebounds.

Roger Williams was led by Jackie Mezzetta's eight points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor.  Paige Congdon posted a game-high eight rebounds.

Up Next
Doane will continue play in Honolulu, Hawaii, participating in the Hoop-n-Surf Classic on December 20.  The Tigers will face NAIA D1 No. 21 Westminster College out of Utah.
