Doane College announced this week that it will be opening another location for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies in Omaha, Nebraska. The Omaha campus will be its fourth in Nebraska; the college currently has locations in Crete, Lincoln and Grand Island with nearly 3,000 students across the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
“Doane has taught education courses in Omaha for over 20 years, and now I'm excited to open a dedicated campus that can bring our quality liberal arts and sciences education to area residents, " said Doane College President Jacque Carter. “Omaha is a place that could benefit from the unique offerings we bring to adult learners and graduate students, and help them meet the challenges in today’s job market."
The Omaha campus will be a part of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies, offering adult learners and graduate students offerings in select undergraduate majors as well the Master of Arts in Management and Master of Arts in Counseling programs. Enrollment is targeted to begin in late fall with the first classes starting in January 2014.
Negotiations for the facility are near completion. The college is in the process of hiring a Director for the Omaha campus and a Service Coordinator as well as applying for permission from the Higher Learning Commission.
