Doane Advances; Faces Morningside Again
The Tiger volleyball team advanced to the GPAC Semifinal Round with a straight-set victory over Briar Cliff University on Saturday evening. Doane took the Quarterfinal Round match-up 25-15, 25-14 and 25-16.
Doane controlled the action from the start as they hit .262 for the match and Briar Cliff was limited to .072. The Tigers posted 41 kills to the Chargers' 24 kills.
Terra Andreasen finished with 12 kills and a .478 attack percentage. Jessy Livers and Susan Rollman picked up eight kills apiece. Ivie Speer contributed six kills for the Tigers.
Doane was aggressive behind the service line, finishing with eight ace serves. Kellie Peterson picked up three ace serves and Emily Schwisow added two ace serves.
Heather Davison posted a team-high 20 set assists while Cassie Reicks finished with 15 for Doane.
Defensively, Schwisow picked up 15 digs and Rollman and Speer combined for three assist blocks apiece at the net.
Doane will travel to Morningside College on Wednesday, November 11, for a semifinal match-up with the Mustangs. The two teams split the regular season match-ups.
