Davison Earns GPAC Setter Honor

(GPAC Release) - The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following volleyball players-of-the-week for September 6 -September 12, 2010. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2010-2011 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Setter- Heather Davison, Doane (Setter)

Doane setter Heather Davison is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Davison, a senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, averaged 10.72 assists per game as the Tigers went 4-1. For the week she also totaled 68 digs and 12 assist blocks in five matches. Doane is 10-3 after going 4-1 last week.

Player - Liz Sutherland, Morningside (Middle Blocker)
Morningside's Liz Sutherland is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week. Sutherland, a junior from Sioux City, Iowa, averaged 4.18 kills per game last week while hitting .561 for the Mustangs. For the week she had just seven attack errors in 114 attempts. She also totaled 15 solo and 12 assist blocks. Morningside went 5-0 and improved to 10-5 on the season.

Libero- Darcy Christensen, Morningside (Libero)
Morningside libero Darcy Christensen is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week. Christensen, a junior from Council Bluffs, Iowa, averaged 7.29 digs per set as the Mustangs went 5-0 on the week. She also completed 113-123 passes for 92% over 17 total games. Morningside is 10-5 on the season.
