Concordia Scores Enough to Top Doane
Doane put forth a strong defensive effort but it was not enough as Concordia came away with a 56-50 victory over the Tigers on Wednesday evening. Doane finished with a 35-percent shooting mark for the game but also struggled at the free throw line, shooting 9-of-17.
Concordia was able to put together a 52-percent shooting effort in the second half to out-score the Tigers by seven points. The effort allowed the Bulldogs to overcome 13 turnovers as Doane finished plus-seven in that category.
The Tigers were led by Jack Lind's 12 points. Jake Johnson added nine points and six rebounds for Doane.
Concordia was paced by Dusan Veselinovic's 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Doane will head north to Mitchell, S.D., to face the Tigers of Dakota Wesleyan University.
