Doane used 14 ace serves and a strong hitting attack to defeat Concordia University, 3-0, in GPAC volleyball action on Wednesday evening in Crete. The game scores were 25-9, 25-11, 25-8. Doane hit .419 for the match, including .464 in the first game. The only attack errors the Tigers made were because of Concordia team blocks.
The Tigers kept the Bulldogs out of sync most of the evening as they held Concordia to a -.070 attack percentage (11 kills, 16 attack errors). The Bulldogs were led in kills with three from Dani Hoagland and Chelsea Vauldt. Hoagland posted six blocks while Heidi Zoucha collected four blocks.
For Doane, Chelsee Marvin posted 13 kills and a .500 attack percentage. Terra Andreasen added 10 kills and Jessy Livers chipped in eight kills. Ashley Sluka posted 14 set assists with Heather Davison notching 12 assists.
Behind the service line, Doane was led by Nicole Skolnick's four ace serves. Sluka and Livers added three ace serves while Marvin chipped in two. Kelli Peterson and Megan Meduna had one apiece.
Emily Schwisow collected a game-high 13 digs for Doane. Skolnick and Livers added eight and seven digs, respectively.
Doane will travel to Hastings to face the Broncos on October 21 at 7:30 PM.
