An introduction to research in a selected area ofymathematics, mathematics education, or anyapplication in mathematics. The course increasesythe students' abilities to communicate theiryexplorations in mathematics. Each student exploresypossible topics and develops a plan of action foryhis/her Mathematics Seminar II project. Theystudent also develops research, writing, andypresentation skills to carry out an independentyresearch project. Prerequisite: Junior or seniorymathematics major and 12 credits at the 300 levelyor above, or permission.
