Mathematics Methods

A methods course with the central focus on methodologies in teaching mathematics and the use of manipulatives within the content of mathematics that is developmentally appropriate for the elementary (including early childhood K-3) and middle grades setting. Students use problem solving as an approach to learn mathematics, identify curricular sequences with common instructional topics, and plan appropriate learning activities and evaluation procedures. Prerequisite: Mathematics 217 or permission.
