COU-632 Assessment, Case Planning, & Management (3-0)
An examination of, and hands-on practice of, caseymanagement with mental health and substance abuseyclients that looks at client strengths and areasyof psychosocial challenges presenting problems,yand specific needs. Making interpersonalyconnection, attitude exploration, working withyclient goals, and managing cases based on validyassessment will lead to development ofyindividualized treatment plans with measurableygoals, objectives, progress notes, and gatheringyof collateral information. Students will surveyycommonly used assessment instruments. Uponycompletion of this course, students will identifyybasic elements of case planning, will demonstrateythe ability to write progress notes, produce anyindividualized treatment plan incorporatingymeasurable goals and collateral information, andybe able to identify the most common assessmentyinstruments.
