This course provides students the opportunity toydevelop the skills needed for careful analyticyreasoning and problem solving. Students willyexamine the nature and structure of arguments, theyargumentative categories of induction andydeduction, the criteria of validity and soundness,yfallacies, and the fundamentals of formal symbolicylogic. Upon completion, students will be able toyevaluate and construct arguments in both prose andysymbolic formats. This course is particularlyyrecommended for any student who anticipates takingyan advanced test for admission to graduate oryprofessional programs.
