Gale Virtual Reference Library
Search this library of over 1,000 reference books for information on all kinds of topics, from celebrity biographies to literary criticism to bioethics. You can download PDFs of articles to your e-reader, or even translate articles in many different languages.

Oxford Reference Online

Encyclopaedia Britannica Online
Search the content of encyclopedias, a dictionary and thesaurus, a multimedia database with images, videos, and sound files, the Web's Best Sites, selected magazines and journals, country statistics from World Data Analyst, notable quotations, and Gateway to the Classics (a collection of works of Western history, literature, philosophy, and science).

Encyclopedia Americana
Most articles have been prepared by leading authorities in their fields, and many entries contain additional materials, including maps, flags, tables, and links to related sites on the World Wide Web. Also includes the Journal, a current events database; Editor's Picks, an introduction to research on various topics; and Profiles, biographies of famous and influential people.

Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia
Part of EBSCO's Primary Search database, Funk & Wagnalls is a respected elementary school-level encyclopedia with articles written specifically for kids.

A comprehensive encyclopedia for Spanish speakers and Spanish-language students, this resource includes thousands of articles and images, hundreds of fact boxes and tables, world history timelines, Spanish-language news stories, a dynamic Spanish atlas, teacher resources, and the "Aula de español" module, developed for Spanish-language learners.

Encyclopedia of Life Support Systems 
Unique in many ways, the EOLSS has a thematic organization instead of the standard alphabetical arrangement of most encyclopedias. In an attempt to forge pathways between disciplines it deals in detail with interdisciplinary subjects, but it is also disciplinary as each major core subject is covered in great depth by world experts.
