Introduction to Poetry Writing

An introduction to basic descriptive and critical terminology having to do with the writing of poetry. Students will become familiar with free verse and a limited number of fixed forms. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to identify a number of different kinds of poetry and will have written poems of their own. Prerequisite: English 101
